The most common complaint homeowners have about contractors isn’t the quality of the work — it’s the lack of communication. They don’t know what’s happening on their project, they can’t get a straight answer on timeline, and every update requires a phone call or text that may or may not get returned. We solved this by building every project on Buildertrend.
Buildertrend is a construction project management platform used by professional builders and remodelers. It’s not a messaging app or a shared folder — it’s a full project management system that tracks schedule, budget, documents, photos, selections, change orders, and communication in one place.
Every client gets their own login. From the day your project kicks off, you have access to everything — the same view we see internally. No chasing for updates. No wondering what’s happening next. No digging through email threads to find a decision that was made three weeks ago.
This isn’t something we charge extra for. It’s how we run every project, whether it’s a detached ADU, a kitchen remodel, or a whole house renovation.
The schedule. Every milestone has a date. You can see when demolition starts, when rough-ins get inspected, when cabinets arrive, when final inspection is scheduled. If something shifts, the schedule updates and you see it immediately.
Photos. We upload jobsite photos regularly — progress shots, completed phases, anything that needs your attention. Every photo is timestamped and organized by project phase. You don’t have to ask for updates — they’re already there.
Budget tracking. You see what’s been paid, what’s pending, and what’s coming up. Line-item detail, not a lump sum. If a change order adds cost, you see exactly where and why before approving it.
Selections. Choosing finishes, appliances, fixtures, and materials happens through the platform. Your selections are documented, linked to the budget, and visible to the construction team — so nothing gets installed that you didn’t approve.
Download the Buildertrend app (iOS or Android) for push notifications and on-the-go access.
Most construction disputes come from the same place: miscommunication. Something was discussed but not documented. A change was approved verbally but the cost wasn’t agreed to. The schedule slipped but nobody told the homeowner until it was weeks behind.
Buildertrend eliminates these problems by creating a single source of truth. Every conversation is logged. Every change order is documented with cost and approval. Every schedule change is visible. When everything is in writing and accessible to both sides, disputes don’t happen.
This isn’t about being tech-forward — it’s about being accountable. A system that documents everything protects the client and forces us to operate at a higher standard. That’s why we use it on every project, not just the big ones.
“Transparency isn’t a feature we offer — it’s how we operate. Every project, every client, every detail documented.”
— Mendez & Son’s Construction
What you see as a client is the organized output. Behind the scenes, Buildertrend runs our entire operation:
Trade scheduling. Every subcontractor — plumber, electrician, tile, HVAC — gets scheduled through the platform. They know when they’re on site, what’s expected, and what needs to be done before they arrive. No phone tag, no miscommunication.
Inspection tracking. Building inspections have to happen in a specific sequence. Buildertrend tracks which inspections have passed, which are pending, and what needs to be ready. We don’t miss inspections because they’re built into the schedule.
Material ordering. Lead times on cabinets, countertops, windows, and fixtures can run 4 to 12 weeks. We track order dates, expected delivery, and installation dates in the system so materials arrive when the project is ready for them — not before, not after.
Daily logs. Our project managers log daily activity — who was on site, what was completed, any issues encountered. This creates a running record of the project that’s invaluable if questions come up later.

The Buildertrend portal doesn’t disappear when your project is done. Your account stays active with full access to everything: photos, documents, contracts, warranty information, and the complete project history.
Warranty claims go through the portal. If something needs attention after move-in, you submit a request through Buildertrend and we schedule a technician. The claim is tracked from submission through resolution — no phone tag, no lost emails.
Documents for resale. If you ever sell the property, your Buildertrend account has every permit, inspection report, and construction document organized and accessible. Buyers and their inspectors appreciate a complete paper trail.
Photos, documents, contracts, and communication — all accessible after completion.
Submit claims online. We schedule the fix and keep you updated through the portal.
Complete permit and inspection documentation for future buyers or appraisers.
If organized communication and documented accountability matter to you — and they should — this is how we deliver it. Every ADU and remodeling project we run goes through Buildertrend from day one.
